Joseph Yankey, D.O.
Dr. Joseph Yankey was born in Mason City, Iowa, and graduated with honors from the University of Northern Iowa, earning a Bachelor’s of Art Degree in Chemistry. He then went on to pursue his medical career earning his doctor of osteopathy degree from Des Moines University. He completed his family practice residency at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines, IA. Dr. Yankey is a member of American Academy of Family Physicians and is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
Dr. Yankey has over ten years of medical experience in family practice, urgent care, and orthopedics. His special interest in orthopedics stems from his collegiate athletic career. As an athlete, he had an affinity for orthopedics and sports medicine, which ultimately led him to the field of regenerative medicine.
He brings over eleven years of injection experience to his practice, which includes ultrasound guided joint injections for the highest level of accuracy. He is passionate about regenerative medicine because he can help his patients feel better and decrease their pain in a minimally invasive way.
In addition to his enthusiasm for regenerative medicine, Dr. Yankey also enjoys spending time with his family, snowboarding, rock climbing, cycling, cooking, crosswords, and surfing. He often jokes he is the only Iowan with three surfboards in his basement.
